ZANZIBAR ITINERARY

The appeal of Zanzibar goes well beyond the beach. The semi-autonomous archipelago has a very different history from that of
the mainland; Zanzibar was capital of Oman for well over a century and was eventually colonized by Great Britain while the
mainland becomes the Germany colony. Evident in the architecture of stone Town, a captivating maze of a city that has declared a
UNESCO World Heritage Site, are the multicultural influences of the people who have made Zanzibar their home. A tour of this city
will include stops at the Anglican Cathedral that was built on the site of the slave market, at the Beit el Ajaib or the House of Wanders,
built by Oman Sultan as a ceremonial hall and now a national museum, and at the Hind temple with its wonderfully coloured flags
and peak.
