Southern Tanzania Selous, Mikumi & Ruaha 10 day safari package will take you to the remote Tanzania, an authentic and private wildlife viewing adventure in one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations off the well-beaten path of the “migration trail” to revel in the peaceful atmosphere of Tanzania’s lesser-visited wilderness area Selous and Ruaha.

Pick-up at Dar Es Salaam Airport, or accommodation in the city, transfer to Lower Selous (approx. 3-4 hours).Morning & Lunch:
At 50,000 sq. km, Selous is the largest Game Reserve in Africa and contains more than 2/3 of all of the country’s elephants, rare & endangered wild dog, and largest surviving population of hippopotamus & crocodiles in the entire Africa, commonly seen along the Rufiji River. During dry season, one may also see the elephant migration taking place between the Selous & Mozambique’s Niassa Game Reserves—and according to the last consensus, an estimated 64,000 elephants were migrating, with 84% in Tanzania. Adventurous boat excursions & walking safaris can be arranged.Enjoy late morning game drive in the game reserve, before stopping at picnic site for packed Lunchbox.

Day 04’s schedule will be flexible. You can relax back at the Lodge, enjoy breakfast, or you can leave early for game drive again, and continue your day with full game drive and packed lunchbox at the picnic site.Evening:
Enjoy Dinner & overnight stay at Upper Selous accommodation. Azura Selous or SimilarDAY 5: Driving to Mikumi national park. Driving time: 4-5 hours

After morning breakfast, you will start driving to Mikumi National Park (approx. 4-5 hours)Lunch:
You will stop for Lunch Box on the way to Mikumi.Afternoon:
Upon arriving at Mikumi, you will start your afternoon game drive.Often compared to the Serengeti plains, Mikumi boasts of open grassland, with acacia woodland and baobab, and it is the fourth largest National Park in Tanzania. The grasslands of Mikumi is home to large herds of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, and impala, and one can also find small groups of warthog, waterbuck, vervet monkey * yellow baboon—and commonly at night, lions and spotted hyena.

Morning & Lunch:
On your first full day in Mikumi, we recommend leaving the camp by 05:30am, with packed breakfast box, or you can also return to camp for hot breakfast by 9-10am. This is when the animals are at their best, hungry and ready to hunt for their first kill of the day. You wouldn’t want to miss the early morning action!After a full morning game drive, return to camp for hot lunch, or, you can also choose to have packed lunch boxes at the picnic site.
Afternoon
By 1-2pm, you have the option to stay back at Camp to relax, rest, or to continue with your game drive until sunset!
After game drive in the late afternoon or early evening, return to camp for rest.
Evening
Dinner & overnight at Mikumi Accommodation. Stanley Kopje Camp
DAY 7: Mikumi - Ruaha national park.Driving time: 5-6 hours.
Morning & Lunch:
After breakfast, you will start driving to Ruaha (approx. 5 to 6 hours). You will stop for packed lunch boxes on the way to Ruaha.Afternoon:
Upon arriving at Ruaha, you will start your afternoon game drive along the Ruaha River Banks.Ruaha, the second largest National Park I Tanzania, is the home to 450 bird species, such as crested barbet, yellow-collared lovebird and ashy starling. It is also an exciting, action-packed place to visit during the dry season, when impala, weaterbuck & antelopes come to the Great Ruaha River for water, and where predator animals such as lions, cheetah and leopards are waiting to prey for food. Walking/hiking safaris in the bush can be arranged.

Morning & Lunch:
On your first morning in Ruaha, we recommend leaving the camp by 05:30am, with packed breakfast box, or you can also return to camp for hot breakfast by 9-10am. This is when the animals are at their best, hungry and ready to hunt for their first kill of the day. You wouldn’t want to miss the early morning action!By 10am, you will start the guided Walking Safari inside Ruaha, for your chance to be amidst elephants, zebras, buffalos, as well as other larger predator animals from a distance! The walk will be guided by an armed Park Ranger.
After a full morning game drive, return to camp for hot lunch, or, you can also choose to have packed lunch boxes at the picnic site.
Afternoon:
By 1-2pm, you have the option to stay back at Camp to relax, rest, or to continue with your game drive until sunset!Evening:
Dinner & Overnight at Ruaha Accommodation. Ruaha River Lodge or SimilarDay 10: Dar Es Salaam(Flight) Flight time: 1 hour(Approximately)
Morning & Lunch:
On your last morning in Ruaha, you will have the option of waking up again by 05:30am to start game drive with packed breakfast box, or you can stay back at the Lodge and enjoy your breakfast at a leisurely pace, before starting your last morning game drive.Enjoy Hot Lunch back at Camp or Lunchbox at Picnic Site
Afternoon & Flight:
Around 4pm, start driving to the Ruaha airstrip to connect to flight to Dar Es Salaam DEP 16:25pm ARR 17:35pm.Pick-up at Airport in Dar Es Salaam, transfer to accommodation in the city (can be arranged upon request).
